• Competitive State Brownfields Grant application submitted in fall of 2004

After City officials determined that a critical piece of real estate had become tax-delinquent and abandoned by the previous owner, leaving contamination of soil and groundwater behind, Sand Creek Consultants prepared and received a competitive state grant to:

• Remove dilapidated buildings and other site safety hazards
• Perform a Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment
• Remove all petroleum tanks from the site
• Test soil and groundwater for environmental pollution

After completing the Brownfields work, Sand Creek obtained a second state grant to fund the clean-up of soil and groundwater pollution.
